Director, Energy Transition and Industry Competitiveness
The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) is seeking to appoint an experienced leader who is looking for their next challenge and brings knowledge about both Victoria's energy transition and climate action agenda, and Victoria's economic development processes and priorities.
You will be motivated by the opportunity to play a critical role in shaping and guiding the Department's contribution to Victoria's energy transition and clean-economy agenda. This includes marshalling DJSIR portfolio levers to support acceleration of new energy supply, build industry competitiveness and resilience, by assisting Victoria's industrial base to manage energy price uncertainty and maximise economic growth opportunities from the global investment in renewable energy and climate action.
Reporting to the Executive Director - Industry Development, Construction, Manufacturing and Talent, this role requires the ability to operate across the department, in close collaboration with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA), and in partnership with key external stakeholders, utilising expert thought leadership, strategic influence and coordination skills to drive enhanced outcomes in areas where the department's economic development priorities intersect with energy and climate policy.
You will be joining the Industry Development, Construction, Manufacturing and Talent Branch, which is responsible for shaping and ensuring the delivery of the Victorian Government's industry development agenda. The branch develops policies and delivers programs that drive sustainable economic growth and workforce inclusion, leading to higher living standards for all Victorians.
