STS7 Director, Employee Learning and Inclusion
About the Role
As the Director Employee Learning and Inclusion, you will need to demonstrate an exceptional record of achievement in leadership development and capability improvement to enable high-performance culture. Knowledge of contemporary learning practices and best-in-class systems and delivery models is expected.
You will lead programs and policies relating to employee learning, diversity and inclusion and development including the department's Performance and Development process for VPS staff. Fostering an enabling team culture you'll engender a client-first approach that places staff at the centre of service delivery.
You will be required to develop and foster a close working relationship with other divisions in the department and responsible for connected policies and programs such as those relating to First Nations employees, integrity and public sector values, school workforce, and employee health, safety and wellbeing. You will hold the relationship with the department's staff networks, who play and important role in championing diversity and inclusion in the department.
Your leadership approach will reflect a commitment to the recognition of differences, fairness and respect towards all staff whilst ensuring that activities are delivered in accordance with the department's public sector values: Responsiveness, Integrity, Impartiality, Accountability Respect, Leadership and Human Rights.
About the Division
People Strategy and Operations Division provides end to end people services to the department's 5,000+ VPS employees, strategic workplace relations advice and support to the VPS and early childhood sectors and manages corporate office working places and environmental sustainability.
The Division focuses on the needs and challenges of the Department's VPS workforce and non-school sector workforces.
About the Department and People Executive Services Group
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services including policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
People and Executive Services Group is responsible for a range of functions including human resources, workforce health and safety, integrity and employee conduct, child safety and school standards assurance, workforce diversity and inclusion, communications and media, cabinet and ministerial support, executive services, knowledge and records management, freedom of information, privacy, audit and assurance and legal and legislation services.
