About the Role
This is a fixed term 12 month parental leave SES 1 contract
We are seeking a strategic leader to join the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) as the Director, Corporate Strategy and Governance. This role leads the Corporate Strategy and Governance branch and is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the department’s Governance Framework. It also provides expert advice and support on governance matters across the department and its portfolio entities. Additionally, the role manages corporate planning activities such as the development of the DTP Strategic Plan and Annual Report, while also delivering high-level secretariat support.
In this position, you will lead the coordination of the department’s governance framework and support strong governance across the broader transport and planning portfolio. You will oversee the development of strategic and corporate business plans, and report on the department’s performance to the Secretary and senior leadership. The role also involves providing high-quality, strategic advice to Ministers and executive leadership, while fostering strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support integrated and effective service delivery.
As part of the Governance and Portfolio Services leadership group, you will drive the performance and development of the Corporate Strategy and Governance branch by building capability, fostering engagement, and promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace culture. The role also contributes to broader organisational and government reforms, ensuring change initiatives are effective and aligned with departmental and whole-of-government objectives.
