THE ROLE
The Director, Child Protection leads the delivery of Child Protection operations, strategic planning and performance reporting for the Barwon area. The Director, Child Protection provides leadership and operational oversight to the Child Protection program. The Director, Child Protection is responsible for stewarding and safeguarding the Child Protection program to meet program targets, performance objectives and statutory responsibilities for the Barwon area while delivering child-centred, culturally safe and family-focused quality services that promote improved client outcomes and foster a productive and cooperative work environment.
The Director, Child Protection is a key member of the executive team, and is critical in developing and maintaining relationships with community service providers, Aboriginal community controlled organisations, other departments, Victoria Police, universal and specialist service systems (Maternal and Child Health, Alcohol and Drug, Mental Health) and other key external stakeholders, as well as driving a collaborative network of information and innovation sharing within the child protection program in the department.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
Lead the delivery of child protection operations, strategic planning and performance reporting function for the Area ensuring an evidence base is available to support effective service responses that improve outcomes for vulnerable children, young people and their families.
Ensure that program targets, performance objectives and statutory responsibilities are met.
Analyse compile and report on data performance and trends within Child Protection.
