THE ROLE
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Director, Business Portfolio and Delivery Management (Families and Fairness) is a key role within the Information Technology Services (ITS) Branch. Within the branch, and through our service delivery partners, the role has the overall responsibility for these portfolio's spanning both strategic and operational functions including: Technology-Service Management of service delivery partners including Shared Service Delivery and Support (provided via the Shared Services with the Department of Health); Business Portfolio and Demand Management; Initiative Scoping and Program Planning; Delivery Management and Oversight. It manages these aspects of the information and communication technology (ICT) function for the full breadth and depth of portfolio activity delivered by the following Divisions: Children's & Families; Disability, Fairness and Emergency Management; Family Safety Victoria.
Within that remit, the role requires a comprehensive knowledge and skills in leading those aspects of ICT management, acquired through formal (tertiary) training and relevant professional, technical or management certifications and experience. The role also requires an understanding of policy, service delivery, regulatory, and legislative processes in the various portfolios gained through experience in similar public or private sector management or specialist roles, with a strong understanding of the social, political, and economic factors affecting the portfolio.
The role leads and manages the unit responsible the delivery of those functions and ensures the effective delivery of services to the range of demands, across the breadth and depth of the portfolios. They take accountability for the staff and resources of this unit including related services provided via Shared Services with the Department of Health, and take responsibility for continuous improvement processes within the team.
