THE ROLE
Reporting to the Executive Director, Executive Services within the Corporate and Delivery Services Division, the Director, Audit and Risk provides leadership and guidance to a skilled team who facilitate the operation of the audit and risk functions for the Department.
In driving the departments risk approach in accordance with the Victorian Government Risk Management Framework, you will lead development of frameworks and business systems that enable the Board of Management and business areas to be future facing, resilient, anticipating challenges and opportunities. At an enterprise level this will include embedding the department's risk management framework and supporting evolution of our organisation's risk culture.
You will also be accountable for the department's audit function, incorporating the responsibilities of the Chief Audit Executive. You will deliver an audit function that is consistent with requirements under the Financial Management Act 1994 and associated Standing Directions and Guidance. In this role you will be accountable for the operation of the department's internal audit function and internal audit program, support operation of the department's Audit and Risk Management Committee and manage the relationship with the Victorian Auditor General's Office (VAGO).
