The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Director Assurance to provide executive leadership for the Data, Performance and Governance portfolio.
About the Business Unit
The Corporate Strategy and Delivery Group is an enabling function delivering Finance, People, Safety and Culture, Strategic Communication, Infrastructure, Data, Performance and Governance, and Information Technology Solutions to support the Department. The group provides strategic and operational support, delivers essential corporate services, and leads continuous improvement and performance oversight of corporate functions.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Governance and Assurance within the Corporate Strategy and Delivery Group, the Director, Assurance leads a range of governance, risk, audit, compliance and assurance services required for the department to meet its obligations under the Financial Management Act 1994 and associated Standing Directions, and other key legislative and policy accountabilities in relation to risk management, insurance, audit, business continuity and emergency management. The Director is also responsible for ensuring the department meets its specific legislative obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI), and its role as lead agency in providing support for FOI governance across the Victorian public sector.
