The Director, Assessment Development leads assessment development, including the VCE Examinations and plays a critical leadership role in the delivery of high-quality VCE examinations in line with VCAA's strategic and operational goals. To undertake this role, the Director will have strong project management skills and experience in leading multi-functional teams through change to successfully achieve outcomes for the community to fixed timeframes.
The Director, Assessment Development will provide operational oversight, lead strategic improvement initiatives, and drive cross-organisational collaboration to strengthen examination and assessment practices. The Director ensures that examination development is consistent, timely and aligned with curriculum requirements and the broader objectives of the VCAA Strategic Plan.
The Director reports to the Executive Director, Assessments. This role is a key member the VCAA's leadership team and is expected to contribute to whole-of-organisation leadership.
The Director will be accountable for leading the overall management and development of the VCE Examinations within specified guidelines and policies. The Director Assessment Development is expected to:

Essential: Strong leadership and change management experience; Tertiary degree in a relevant field
Desirable: Experience in managing complex and/or innovative projects
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) is responsible for developing high-quality early learning and development frameworks, a curriculum for school-aged students, and assessment products and services.
