About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The Communications Division leads, shapes and supports communication of Victorian Government priorities for early childhood development, school education and vocational education and training.
The Digital and Creative Services Branch creates and manages the content and channels that deliver the Department's communication objectives. The branch provides expert advice and services related to design, brand management, written and visual content development, channel and advocates for a digital-first approach to communications across the Department.
About the Role
The primary purpose of the Digital Adviser role is to support the management and governance of the Department's websites. It ensures they are maintained and able to deliver on user needs and the Department's priority communication activities. It structures, builds, publishes, maintains and expires complex websites for multiple audiences. It also provides advice to help align channels and products to digital standards.
The role works closely with other teams in the Communications Division, advising on digital communication approaches and helping to implement communication plans, strategies and campaigns. Ad hoc after-hours work may be required.

This is an exciting and busy role in a supportive team. The role is suitable to someone who has a number of years of proven digital communication skills in a professional environment. You will work in partnership with stakeholders across the department, across all levels – an ability to articulate, collaborate on and advocate for digital best practice, including designing processes based on user needs, insights and input, are required.
Critical to this role is excellent time management skills and an ability to work within timeframes. Someone who loves continuous improvement, is a team player and is responsive will excel in this role. The incumbent will also work across other digital communication tools including electronic direct mail (EDMs).
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Essential: Relevant tertiary qualification communications and/or relevant professional experience.
