Job Title: Dietitian (Grade 2 or 3) – Metabolic Medicine
About the Role
This is a Fixed Term Part Time position to cover Parental Leave from 17/8/26 until 31/1/27 at 45.6 hours per fortnight (0.6EFT) with the possibility of extension. This role reports to the Department of Nutrition and Food Services however operationally is seated within the Department of Metabolic Medicine, a multidisciplinary team consisting of doctors, nurses, dietitians, social workers and administration assistants. This role includes weekend on call work additional to the 0.6EFT.
You will be responsible for the nutritional management of patients from 0-18yo with inborn errors of metabolism. This includes both inpatient and outpatient management of a variety of metabolic disorders including PKU, MSUD, organic acidaemias, urea cycle disorders, disorders of carbohydrate metabolism eg GSD and fatty acid oxidation disorders among others.
Classification for this position will range from AJ1-AK4. Grade 2y1- Grade 3y4 (full time equivalent base salary $XXX - $XXX) per annum, pro-rata, plus superannuation). Classification will be based on the successful applicant’s experience and ability to perform at a grade 2 or 3 level.

About the Department
The Department of Nutrition and Food Services incorporates the clinical dietetic service, the Main Kitchen that caters for inpatient meals and the Central Formula Room that produces formula, enteral feeds and fortifies expressed breast milk to meet the nutritional needs of patients.
Dietitians provide services to inpatient medical/specialty units and to specialist outpatient clinics and are available to consult on all aspects of infant and child nutrition including assessment, recommendations for nutritional management, implementation of therapeutic diets, enteral feeding and tube weaning within the hospital setting. We are a registered NDIS Nutrition service to provide disability-related nutrition supports to eligible patients. We also support a large number of families on our Home Enteral Nutrition Program.
