About The Role:
This is a part-time, Fixed Term position until 31/01/2027. Work days: Monday, Tuesday, and alternating Wednesdays.
As a key member of the Diabetes Allied Health Team, the dietitian is responsible for providing dietitian services to young people living with diabetes, and their families. In consultation with the rest of the Diabetes Allied Health Team the dietitian will ensure young people and families have the knowledge and skills to manage their diabetes within the hospital and in their local community.
Although the majority of this workload focuses on providing services to young people living with diabetes, it will also involve some general team cover assisting with the nutritional management of other paediatric patients.
Internally, this position will be known and/or referred to as: Dietitian (Grade 2) - Diabetes.
Classification for this position is governed by Award 18 - Medical Scientists and will range from AJ1 (Grade 2, Year 1) – AJ4 (Grade 2, Year 4) depending on experience, from $94,478.80 to $106,906.80 per annum, pro-rata for part time, plus Superannuation).

About Nutrition and Food Services:
The Department of Nutrition and Food Services at The Royal Children's Hospital incorporates the clinical dietetic service, the Main Kitchen that caters for inpatient meals and the Central Formula Room that produces formula, enteral feeds and fortifies expressed breast milk to meet the nutritional needs of patients. The Department is also a registered NDIS provider.
About The Department:
The RCH Endocrinology and Diabetes department is one of the largest paediatric diabetes services in the world and is involved in active primary care, education, family support, research and advocacy for children and adolescents with diabetes. The multidisciplinary team includes diabetes medical specialists, diabetes nurse educators, dietitians, social workers and mental health professionals. The service currently provides a model of service delivery which includes in-patient and ambulatory stabilization of newly diagnosed patients, diabetes inpatient and outpatient services and allied health led outpatient clinics. This role reports to the Nutrition and Food Services Department which sits within Allied and Digital Health.
