ROLE SUMMARY:
The Fleet Design and Procurement Manager is a senior strategic leadership role responsible for the design, procurement, and pre-delivery assurance of all Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) fleet assets.
The role provides governance and development of fleet design standards and specifications, ensuring fleet assets are fit-for-purpose, compliant, safe, and capable of meeting operational requirements prior to acceptance into service.
The role is responsible for overseeing VICSES' fleet procurement programs, ensuring programs are effectively governed, risks are managed, and outcomes align with approved designs, specifications, funding conditions, and strategic objectives. This includes supporting the Director Fleet, Equipment and Clothing through the provision of high-quality advice, analysis, and reporting to government, executive leadership, and key internal stakeholders on program status, risks, performance, and emerging issues.
The Fleet Design and Procurement Manager ensures robust fleet quality assurance, contract management, and governance frameworks are established and maintained in accordance with VICSES policies and frameworks, to confirm fleet assets align with VICSES-approved.

Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.
As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.
