About the role:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Deputy CEO is responsible for strategic leadership of Hospitals Victoria division, ensuring it becomes a key driver of financial reform and health system performance. The role also includes the development and management of the department's forward work plan, delivering high-quality reporting to government, and fostering collaboration across divisions and external partners to optimise health sector outcomes.
The Deputy CEO leads strategic efforts focused on enhancing the financial performance and sustainability of health services, this role is critical in ensuring the health system operates efficiently. The Deputy CEO plays a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction, governance, and oversight to ensure the division achieves its service obligations while maintaining financial viability across the health sector.
This role requires a highly experienced government leader with deep expertise in financial management, performance improvement, and a strong understanding of the health sector's unique challenges and opportunities.
