Departmental Liaison Officer
The Role
The Departmental Liaison Officer (DLO) facilitates good communication between the Minister's office and Creative Victoria. The position is responsible for the efficient and appropriate handling of correspondence, coordination of the briefing process and the appropriate flow of information.
The DLO role offers an opportunity to understand the workings of government, gain exposure to a Minister's office, develop an appreciation of the full scope of Creative Victoria's work, and work in a complex and vibrant environment.

The Team
The position of Departmental Liaison Officer forms a part of the Office of the Chief Executive Branch within the Creative Victoria Group.
The Office of the Chief Executive supports the Chief Executive in leading the Creative Victoria group to efficiently and effectively deliver on the priorities of the Department, Minister and the Victorian Government, including under the Creative Victoria Act 2017 and Creative State 2025. This includes responsibility for public administration, ministerial coordination, and the provision of high-quality strategic policy advice on promoting and improving access to and participation in the arts and creative industries.
About You
Use your understanding of the functions and operation of government, including Cabinet, Parliament, and procedures associated with legislation, together with experience in the public sector.
Use your well-developed organisational, analytical and planning skills and your ability to operate independently within given guidelines and timeframes, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively with a range of internal stakeholders, to achieve the objectives of the branch.
Experience in coordinating correspondence, briefings and submissions on confidential and sensitive issues, and the demonstrated ability to work on concurrent issues under strict timelines without supervision, will support your success in this role.
