About the role:
The Data Scientist, Advanced Analytics will work in an established, high-performing team on a fixed term project to create a simulation model of selected patient journeys through the Victorian health system.
With guidance from a senior data scientist with doctoral qualifications and industry experience, the Data Scientist will work independently to develop and apply machine learning algorithms and other advanced data science techniques to predict how patients move through key areas of the health system and simulate the impact of system changes. Project deliverables will support decision-making and policy design, as well as providing a proof of concept for a more extended application of simulation modelling.

About you:
Applicants must have proven capability in the development and application of machine learning algorithms and other advanced statistical techniques in analysis of business problems and forecasting. Further, the successful applicant must have demonstrated experience using SQL, R and Python in machine learning and statistical modelling. Experience in simulation modelling (particularly using the AnyLogic platform) or object-oriented programming would be advantageous.
