About the Role:
This is an excellent fixed term 6 month opportunity for a data professional who enjoys working with modern analytics platforms, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and continuing to grow their technical capability within a supportive team environment.
The Building & Plumbing Commission (BPC) recognises the critical role of data in supporting informed decision-making and regulatory effectiveness. The Data Analytics Developer contributes to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Data Analytics Platform (DAP), supporting the delivery of reliable and high-quality data and analytics capabilities across the organisation.
Working as part of the Data Office, this role provides technical support to Senior Data Analytics Developers in the design, development and maintenance of data models, dashboards and analytics solutions. The position assists in managing and transforming structured data to support reporting and analytical requirements.
The Data Analytics Developer utilises modern analytics and visualisation tools, including Power BI and Azure data services, to assist in the delivery of insights that support regulatory functions across regulation, registration, insurance and dispute resolution. The role collaborates with internal stakeholders and technical team members to ensure data solutions are developed in line with organisational standards and contribute to evidence-based decision-making. The position focuses on supporting the implementation, documentation, maintenance and continuous improvement of analytics solutions while developing technical capability under the guidance of Senior Developers.

About the BPC
Established in 2025, the BPC is Victoria's new independent regulator for the building and plumbing industries. The BPC brings together the Victorian Building Authority (VBA), Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV), and the domestic building insurance function of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) into one organisation.
Key functions related to building and plumbing regulation have come together under one roof, including registration, inspection and compliance, practitioner discipline, dispute resolution, and domestic building insurance.
