Working Arrangements
The nature of the Daily Organiser function requires the position holder to commence work from 7:00am during school terms and to be accessible by mobile phone from 7:00am each school day.
Due to the operational requirements of the position, some work may be undertaken from home and, on occasion, outside the normal span of hours. To accommodate the early commencement, finishing times on site may be managed flexibly in accordance with school requirements.
The total attendance requirement for the position is 38 hours per week.
The Daily Organiser is responsible for the effective coordination and administration of the school's daily staffing requirements.
The position coordinates daily staffing arrangements, including staff absences, replacement staff, class coverage, additional duties, room changes and communication of daily staffing information.
The Daily Organiser works within established school procedures, Department of Education requirements and the direction of the Principal Team. The position requires the ability to manage competing priorities, respond to changing circumstances, use initiative and exercise sound judgement within the scope of the role.
The position requires regular communication and cooperation with teachers, Education Support staff, Casual Relief Teachers (CRTs), administration staff, the Business Manager and members of the Principal Team to ensure the school's daily staffing requirements are effectively managed.
As a special developmental school, the Daily Organiser works within a complex environment where staffing arrangements need to take account of individual student needs, classroom requirements, staff qualifications, student safety and the operational requirements of the school.
The Daily Organiser provides timely and accurate information to the Principal Team and Business Manager regarding staffing matters and refers complex, sensitive or exceptional matters requiring higher-level decision making to the appropriate member of the Principal Team.
