Central After-Hours Service (CAHS) - Box Hill Location
Central After-Hours Service (CAHS) - All urgent child protection matters that are received outside core business hours (after hours, weekends and public holidays), are responded to and managed by a state-wide service based in metropolitan Melbourne. In this team you will participate in rostered work completing all shift types including night, afternoon and day shifts including on weekends and public holidays where you will receive and assess new reports of alleged child abuse or neglect and conduct urgent visits to assess the risk and safety of a child
Rural After-Hours Service (RAHS) On Call - Multiple ongoing roles in : Mildura, Shepparton, Wangaratta, Wodonga, Morwell, Bairnsdale, Sale, Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Warrnambool and Portland.
Urgent rural area visits are conducted by the RAHS team. This includes working in a critical, fast paced environment and responding to cases where existing and new Child Protection clients are at significant risk and require an urgent out of hours response. As part of this team staff are required to work part time (38 hours per fortnight) in the office and in addition to this will conduct emergency outreach visits as part of an on-call model on nights, weekends and public holidays and will be entitled to penalty rates and allowances.

Assessment Stages and Key Dates:
Eligible CPP3 applicants are required to participate in a one-way video interview. If shortlisted for a CPP3, you will be required to undertake online psychometric and personality assessments by a set date.
Anticipated Online Assessment Centres: Assessment centres are projected to take place between Tuesday 22 July - Wednesday 23 July 2025.
Commencement Dates:
PIP is designed to provide new staff to the child protection program with the necessary practice knowledge and skills relating to the role. Successful candidates will be required to attend the PIP in person in Melbourne, with accommodation, travel and meals included.
Note preferred candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening including national police check, international police check (if required), misconduct screening, qualification checks and two professional reference checks.
Qualifications eligibility
If you have social work, welfare, psychology related qualification and/or relevant experience, you may be eligible for a CPP3 role.
