The Opportunity:
The Student Wellbeing Department is dedicated to championing the health, safety and overall wellbeing of Holmesglen students, creating a supportive environment where every learner can thrive. From short-term counselling and mental health support to crisis intervention, our services span all campuses to ensure students have access to care when they need it most.
Beyond individual support, the department leads a range of targeted welfare programs that address critical student needs—including financial assistance, housing support, food security and access to health services like bulk-billed GP appointments. By working closely with internal departments and community partners, we help students build resilience, stay connected, and have a fulfilling educational experience.
The purpose of this role is to provide strategic leadership in the development and delivery of high-quality clinical counselling and welfare assistance to support student wellbeing and success. The Counselling and Welfare Services Manager is a pivotal role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of students within the Institute. This position oversees the counselling and welfare services provided to students, manages a team of counsellors, welfare officers and youth workers and collaborates with other departments to create a supportive and inclusive campus environment. The Counselling and Welfare Services Manager is responsible for developing and implementing programs, policies and initiatives that promote psychological wellness and student success.
