Important update on location: this role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the Event Strategy and Delivery (ESD) Branch during a period of growth and transition. Initially based at 530 Collins Street, Melbourne VIC 3000, the position will relocate to the new office at 465 Plummer Street, Port Melbourne. The new location will become the primary workplace for the ESD branch from January 2026, with some teams transitioning ahead of this date. This role will transition from October 2025.
What you will be doing
Reporting directly to the Manager, Election Venues, this role will be responsible for:
• Coordinating venue sourcing, assessment, set up and continuity of operations
• Coordinating cross-functional collaboration to ensure venue acquisition meets needs of functionality, OHS, technology and security
• Maintaining procedures and supporting policy development in relation to venue acquisition and management
• Assisting with issue management, risk identification, and reporting to leadership.
What you will bring to the role
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional verbal communication and stakeholder relationship management
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to produce high quality business documentation
• Previous experience in event management, facilities, logistics, or project management is highly desirable
• Attention to detail and experience managing project documentation, tracking progress, and delivering to timelines
• Commitment to the VEC's core values.
