About the Role
This is a Permanent Part Time position at 60.8 hours per fortnight within the RCH Mental Health Hospital Consultation-Liaison team.
You will be responsible for improving outcomes in patient care from a mental health perspective through working directly with patients and indirectly through increasing the capacity of staff to recognise and attend to the mental health needs of hospital inpatients. You will work with patients, families and carers in providing expert mental health assessment and intervention; provide guidance, education and support to generalist staff caring for patients and collaborate with them in developing a plan of care; act as a positive role model to generalist staff in psychiatric - mental health care and practice; work with the organisation or department as a mental health resource on mental health related projects, education and policy development; and act as a link between generalist and mental health services (public and private, hospital and community).
Classification for this position will range from NP75 – NP77 classification codes (FTE base salary $89,972 to $96,891 per annum, plus superannuation).

About the Department
RCH Mental Health comprises community- and hospital-based services. This role is with Hospital Consultation-Liaison, which provides psychiatric services to medical inpatients. The service also consults to families and carers, wards, medical units and allied health services about the management and support of inpatients with mental health problems.
