About the Role
We currently have a permanent part-time opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Consultation-Liaison (C-L) Service, based at University Hospital Geelong (UHG).
Working as part of a highly experienced multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist psychiatric consultation and liaison across UHG, supporting consumers of all ages and working collaboratively with medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health teams. The service provides primary, secondary and tertiary consultation, contributes to collaborative care planning and ongoing mental health treatment, and provides specialist mental health advice and education to non-mental health clinicians across the hospital.
Our multidisciplinary C-L team includes Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychiatry Registrars, an Intern, C-L Nurses, dedicated Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Nurses, administrative support and a Team Manager. The breadth of clinical exposure provides an opportunity to work across diverse and complex presentations, with working arrangements and career opportunities that can support individual circumstances and professional goals.
Experience in, or a passion for child and adolescent psychiatry is highly desirable, reflecting the C-L Service's work with consumers across the lifespan.
