About the role:
We are looking for Consultant Psychiatrists with interest in the mental health of older adults as an Old Age Psychiatrist, Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist or an advanced trainee in Psychiatry of Old Age.
These are ongoing positions with total 0.7 FTE available which will be divided across two different positions/clinical roles. The roles are spread across both aged psychiatry inpatient units and aged psychiatry specialist community teams.
Your new team:
The position is based within OAMHP (Older Adult Mental Health Program) under the Western Mental Health & Wellbeing division which has one inpatient unit, community outreach teams and specialist clinics across the Midwest region of metropolitan Melbourne.
The appointee would be required to provide high standards of clinical care and leadership with focus on leadership in a multidisciplinary team and working closely with other disciplinary leads. In addition, the position has opportunities for education of medical students and supervision of trainees in Psychiatry, other Aged-related specialties and medical officers.
Participation in the ECT roster and after-hours senior roster is expected.
We have close ties with the Academic Unit for Psychiatry of Old Age of the University of Melbourne and we encourage interest and participation in clinical research.
