About the role
In tis role, you will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of on-ground conservation activities, including pest plant and animal management, threatened species and ecological process management, fire ecology, and environmental water and wetland management. It provides practical advice and support to Area Ranger Teams to ensure activities are completed safely, effectively, and to agreed standards.
The Conservation Officer assists with the coordination and monitoring of contracts and service providers and contributes to reporting and evaluation of conservation program outcomes, including work undertaken by contractors and field-based teams. The role provides input to regional conservation planning and operational processes, reflecting practical knowledge of local conditions and priorities.
