About the role:
The Compliance Officer is responsible for administrating and enforcing public health legislation to minimise the impact of legionellosis on the community. The position has a strong focus on compliance with the Public Health and Wellbeing Act and Regulations in the relation to cooling tower systems in business and industry and water systems in Hospitals and aged care facilities. This can involve responding to high profile public health incidents and assisting in the investigation of cases of Legionnaires Disease.
Reporting to the Team Leader Legionella within Regulated Industries, you will primarily support a busy operational team to inspect cooling tower systems, follow up high priority cooling towers for compliance issues and provide advice to senior management in the Department and the Minister for Health on various regulatory issues.
