About us
Community Correctional Services (CCS) is responsible for the management and supervision of prisoners on parole, clients under post sentence supervision and court orders. The goal is to help individuals follow court orders, providing support and follow up when they are at risk of non-successful completion. CCS contributes to community safety by using strategies to reduce reoffending, encouraging participants to take responsibility, and connecting them with programs and services.
About the role
As a Community Work Officer, you will be responsible for providing community work opportunities and contracts to enable individuals to complete their community work hours and orders successfully. You will administer relevant community work practices including monitoring attendance and compliance with requirements at community work placements, and contracting individuals to appropriate local community work sites.
You will build and maintain effective relationships with Community Work Supervisors (field staff), community work partners and other relevant stakeholders, produce reports and standard documentation in line with procedural guidelines and undertake on-site risk assessments or other occupational health and safety processes as required.
This is a hybrid role and is required to work across the Derrimut and Coolaroo locations based on operational needs. Please note the Coolaroo Justice Service Centre is a temporary location whilst the new Epping office is finalised.
To be successful in this role you will:
Relevant experience in a related community service, not for profit or community development field is also desirable.
