About the Role
Apply your technical expertise in fire protection to this diverse role, supporting our volunteers.
As the Community Safety Officer, you'll oversee the delivery of CFA's FEM program, ensuring services are delivered to the highest standards for our volunteer brigades across the state.
This is a leave coverage opportunity through to 10 April 2026, offering a chance to make a meaningful impact. You'll play a key role in maintaining quality and compliance with legislation, Australian Standards and CFA procedures. This includes supporting accredited training and skills maintenance for FEM Officers, conducting audits and providing expert technical advice to brigades, customers and contractors.
With a mix of technical oversight, stakeholder engagement and program coordination, this role offers variety and purpose, supporting our volunteers and maintaining strong client relationships.
Please note: Regular travel will be required for this position including overnight stays. A vehicle will be provided.
About You
Experience in training delivery is essential, supported by a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a background in competency-based training and assessment.
You're an experienced professional with strong technical knowledge and a passion for supporting volunteer-based services. You'll bring relevant industry qualifications or equivalent experience, along with a solid understanding of building regulations and Australian Standards.
As CFA is currently digitising FEM operations and moving away from our current paper-based maintenance recording and processing systems to a fully digital system, experience with similar programs would be highly regarded.
You're organised, outcome-focused and able to manage your time effectively, whether working independently or as part of a team. Your strong communication and relationship-building skills enable you to work confidently with volunteers, customers and stakeholders at all levels.
Knowledge of CFA operations, the CFA Act and Regulations, or familiarity with Victorian Government purchasing policies will be highly regarded.
