The Community Liaison and Engagement Officer, reporting to the Manager, Community Liaison and Engagement, will primarily be responsible for complaints management and communications between the department, school communities and the general public. They will be proactive in familiarising themselves with departmental policies, initiatives and practices and support schools in navigating these as well as supporting relevant departmental reporting requirements to ensure appropriate escalation of concerns where required.
This role is to provide high quality, responsive engagement to general enquiries from the public and school communities, in line with department policies and processes, and to effectively manage, report, monitor and resolve parent enquiries and complaints.
The role promotes and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders and other regional and central staff to ensure consistent, high-quality practice across the region, and work proactively with principals and schools to develop processes and policy regarding complaints management.
The Community Liaison and Engagement Officer will have a high level of written and verbal communication skills across a range of stakeholders, experience in engaging in complex and sensitive matters, and an ability to build relationships.
