What You'll Do
As the Communications and Media Coordinator, you will drive integrated, creative communications campaigns across RBGV, delivering compelling content across multiple channels for diverse audiences. You'll support stakeholder communications, media relations, key messaging, and advocacy initiatives, producing high‑quality corporate content, press releases, and advocacy materials.
You will pitch approved stories to media outlets, manage incoming media requests, and oversee on‑site media activity to ensure alignment with organisational policies. You'll also create on‑brand content for social media, website updates, and eDMs, while providing guidance and support to internal teams. Building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders, including government partners such as DEWLP, key organisations, and affiliated groups, will be essential. You will also prepare campaign reports to evaluate performance and coordinate the communications work‑in‑progress register to keep projects on track and delivered on time.
What You'll Bring
The successful candidate will hold a qualification in marketing, communications, or public relations, with several years' experience in a similar role and a strong grasp of the media industry. You have a proven track record in managing campaigns and projects, pitching stories to media, and delivering high-quality work under pressure. Familiarity with media monitoring platforms and established media or government networks is highly valued. Exceptional written and verbal skills allow you to craft messaging for diverse audiences, applying a persuasive and creative approach to copywriting. You exercise sound judgement with confidential communications, pay close attention to detail, and collaborate effectively to build strong relationships across teams and stakeholders. Highly organised and proactive, you're able to manage multiple priorities, identify compelling stories, and improve processes while creating engaging content for social media platforms. A creative mindset, solutions-focused attitude, and eagerness to learn round out your approach, ensuring impactful communications at every stage.
