About the Opportunity
The Collection Storage and Logistics Technician at our Ballarat Off Site Storage (BOSS) facility reports to the Collection Storage Manager. The role collaborates with other Collection Access Branch staff and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of Library services and supports offsite collection housing, shelving and retrieval processes.
The Collection Storage and Logistics Technician (BOSS) supports the delivery of collection materials within agreed standards and contributes to maintenance and storage of collection items to ensure they can easily be located by staff. The position processes collection material to support usage and contributes to the ongoing improvement of collection logistics workflows to ensure best practice service standards.
While the role offers the opportunity to engage with the collection items, you will primarily be engaged in retrieval activities, located at our Ballarat site. The Collection Storage and Logistics Technician (BOSS) works on-site between 10am and 6pm, with each shift being 6:46 hours, including an unpaid meal break. Rostered work days are Mondays to Thursdays plus alternate Sundays. Working as part of a small team, your start and finish times will be scheduled to ensure staff coverage between the hours of 10am and 6pm.
About You
The ideal candidate demonstrates the capability to perform a range of digital administrative tasks using Outlook, Excel Word and MS Teams and is adept at using technology such as tablets, iPhones, printers and computers. In addition to your capacity to follow guidelines and procedures, you possess the willingness to work across a large site, carrying out a range of manual handling tasks.
