Cloud and Information Security Services Manager
Salary range $131,053 - $153,213 plus statutory super.

The Cloud and Information Security Services Manager role offers an outstanding career opportunity for a professional who is passionate about using their expertise to support VIT in its regulation of Victorian teachers. With expert knowledge on information security practices, experience in providing high-level support for Microsoft cloud systems and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, the role will ensure VIT's cloud services and data are secure, compliant and protected from evolving cyber threats.

About the role
This role will require you to:
- Plan and implement programs that protect VIT from cyber threats and ensure that policies and practices are updated to meet current standards.
- Develop productive working relationships and negotiate with vendors and technology partners to ensure that VIT's cloud and infrastructure solutions are fit-for-purpose.
- Provide second- and third-level desktop and technology-related customer support to VIT staff and implement VIT's asset lifecycle management.
- Develop IT budgets and coordinate contracts, payments and licenses with technology vendors and third parties.
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks for cloud usage, including cost management, resource optimization and policy enforcement
- Work collaboratively with vendors to ensure that all cloud environments have the necessary security controls and update protocols to meet current standards.
- Develop and test incident response plans and manage responses to security incidents, including data breaches, system outages, and other threats.
- Contribute to the completion of IT-related audit and compliance activities, including annual cyber security attestations.
- Develop and oversee initiatives to ensure that VIT's cloud platforms (primarily Microsoft-based) are available, optimised and fit-for-purpose.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand needs, resolve complex issues and provide expert advice in a service delivery framework.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of VIT's ICT strategy, Shared Services branch plan, Information Management Framework and other relevant policy frameworks.
- Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of the latest security threats, trends and advancements in cloud technologies and security practices.
- Provide expert advice and technical briefs to VIT leadership on complex concepts, issues and opportunities in information security and VIT's cloud platforms.
- Communicate issues and outages to VIT staff and organise training for staff on cyber security awareness and practices when appropriate.
- Undertake other duties as directed by Director / Manager Business Systems Team, Shared Services Branch.
About you
As an experienced cloud platform and information security specialist you will have sound and practical knowledge of current information security tools, b
est practices and regulations . You will have experience in uplifting security posture and providing level 2/3 support for Microsoft cloud systems, and ideally a passion for child safety and experience working within the education sector.
You will have strong crucial thinking and problem-solving skills combined with a highly organised approach and a proven track record in managing an organisation's cloud security. In addition to this, as the successful candidate, you will have:
- Accomplished critical thinking and problem solving skills
- A high level of digital and technological literacy, with a balanced focus between technology and strategy
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and situations
- The ability to work collaboratively with staff and third-party providers
- Expertise in outcomes thinking to establish links between work and strategic impact
- Extensive experience and qualifications/certifications in cloud security, information security, or IT security management
- Experience and qualifications/certifications in administering and providing second/third level support for Microsoft cloud systems (Microsoft 365, Azure, Defender, Intune)
- Strong knowledge of information security tools, best practices, frameworks and compliance regulations.
