Statewide rehabilitation services include innovative, evidence-based clinical assessments and interventions for children and young people to support their rehabilitation and reintegration with caregivers, education and other related support systems in the community.
As a statewide model, rehabilitation services aim to provide continuity of care to young people as they move from community into custody.
The opportunity
In this role, you will deliver evidence-based clinical assessments and targeted criminogenic and offence-related interventions to children and young people in custody and the community. You will also provide specialist advice other Youth Justice staff including case managers, behaviour support specialists, youth justice workers and other members of the care team to create best practice outcomes. This includes completing comprehensive case notes, treatment plans and risk assessment reports for internal and external stakeholders.
You will undertake research and analysis in specialist clinical portfolio areas for input into recommendations to senior staff and provide feedback to improve overall practice and responsiveness. In addition, you will lead initiatives and manage quality assurance to support implementation of child safe standards across clinical teams by providing expertise on child and adolescent development, interventions and policy.
To be successful in the role, you will have knowledge of key issues impacting youth justice and direct experience working with children and young people.
