About Pathology Clinical Trials Department
Clinical Trials Pathology provides a dedicated pathology service supporting clinical trials and research across Austin Health and external partners. The service coordinates pathology requirements from initial protocol review and quotation through to agreements, testing and ongoing trial delivery, providing a central point of contact between researchers and laboratory services.
About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Scientist to join our Clinical Trials Pathology team at Austin Health in full time 12 month fixed term position. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the coordination and delivery of clinical trials and research projects, combining pathology expertise with strong administrative and organisational skills. You will review and implement clinical trial protocols, coordinate laboratory requirements and support compliance throughout the trial lifecycle. This is a varied role combining scientific knowledge with administrative, financial and operational responsibilities, while working closely with researchers, trial coordinators, laboratory teams and other stakeholders.

About you
You are a detail-oriented and proactive scientist with experience in clinical trials or research within a pathology or laboratory environment. You combine strong scientific knowledge with excellent administrative, organisational and time management skills, and are confident managing trial documentation, data and financial information with a high level of accuracy. You thrive in dynamic, fast-paced settings, communicate effectively and work well both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Your commitment to scientific excellence, regulatory compliance and continuous professional development drives you to deliver high-quality outcomes.
