About the Role:
This is a permanent part time Clinical Psychologist (Grade 2) position (2 days a week) within the Rehabilitation Department at The Royal Children’s Hospital.
You will be responsible for :
You will provide specialist inpatient and ambulatory rehabilitation in partnership with children and families who require interdisciplinary, goal-focused innovative care.
You are responsible for ensuring a best-practice approach to the delivery of rehabilitation, focusing on the child’s needs in the context of everyday activities and lifetime opportunities, empowering children to create their goals and own their rehabilitation journey.
What you’ll achieve:
As a clinical psychologist with the VPRS at RCH you will provide evidence-based, best practice psychological assessments and interventions for inpatients and outpatients with a variety of conditions including acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, chronic fatigue syndrome, functional neurological disorders and other neurological conditions. The clinical psychologist is an integral part of the large interdisciplinary rehabilitation team and will work alongside other psychologists in the team. Peer and individual supervision is available within the department with strong links to the broader Psychology department within RCH. About The Department:
The Rehabilitation Department is an interdisciplinary service providing specialised care for children with acquired and congenital disability. The RCH team is the main site for paediatric rehabilitation in Victoria and is part of a statewide service. The VPRS at Royal Children’s Hospital is a dynamic service with dedicated highly skilled interdisciplinary clinicians that work with the broader RCH team to provide specialised paediatric rehabilitation.
