About the Role:
The Department of Clinical Haematology is recruiting an Advanced Pratice Nurse into the role of RCH Transfusion Clinical Nurse Consultant. This role is 1.0 FTE ongoing.
The CNC Transfusion provides expert clinical consultation supporting Patient Blood Management (PBM) and transfusion practice across the Royal Children’s Hospital. The CNC Transfusion provides education directly to nursing, medical and laboratory staff as well as wider community related to transfusion practice. The role manages ongoing quality improvement activities, monitoring of adverse events and transfusion reactions, inventory management and quality reporting via the Blood Management committee at RCH, including liaison with external stakeholders such as Lifeblood. The CNC Transfusion is involved in the conduct of regular assessments of pertinent outcome data related to PBM and blood transfusion at RCH and contributes to the development/revision of transfusion-related clinical practice guidelines and procedures for use within RCH, nationally and internationally.
Classification for this position with range from a Clinical Nurse Consultant C ZA7 - ZA8, plus superannuation.
