The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Client Services Support Officer, to provide a critical role within Western Plains Correctional Centre.

Western Plains Correctional Centre is a modern, maximum-security prison focussed on rehabilitation, housing up to 1248 people in custody. Western Plains features multi-purpose infrastructure which is adaptable to the evolving needs of Corrections Victoria and the people in our care. Modern amenities include medical wards, a cultural centre, and vocational training facilities.

About the Role
This role is part of the Workforce and Prison Services (WPS) team, a team dedicated to delivering essential corporate and ancillary services support to prison operational teams and prisoners. Leveraging the technical ability and professional expertise of trained subject matter experts, the team supports the smooth functioning of prison operations while prioritising prisoner rehabilitation and safety.
The Client Services Support Officer applies their customer service and technical expertise to ensure the compliant, efficient, and client focussed delivery of prison services across their designated portfolio within multiple functional areas of the centre. Service areas include:
Client Services Support Officers will rotate through different service areas over a set period. This approach allows Officers to enhance their career development and broaden their understanding of all team deliverables, enabling them to better support Team Leaders and Supervisors while also providing opportunities for higher responsibilities.
Client Services Support Officers deliver service and support to the individuals in our care, as well as visitors and staff, all aimed at fostering a safe and rehabilitative environment and implementing a prisoner-centric operating model. Team members must prioritise customer service, teamwork, integrity, accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
This hands-on role requires you to utilise your strong organisational skills to prioritise and manage workloads effectively. You will work efficiently with minimal supervision while delivering exceptional customer service to the individuals in our care, as well as to staff and visitors at the centre.
This position will require the direct contact with the people in our care at Western Plains and involves weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2024.
Given the nature of the position, being a customer-facing role within the facility, you will be required to work predominantly on-site, with reduced working from home capacity.
