Clerical Assistant

About the Role
This unique position is part of the Perioperative Administration team that provides clerical support for perioperative services. This role will primarily be based at the theatre front reception but will also include time to provide support to the floor coordinator and other perioperative staff as required.
Key Accountabilities
- Greeting visitors, answering phones and providing a professional, friendly front-of-house presence for the operating suite
- Attending meetings and taking minutes, and liaising with theatre staff, hospital employees and company representatives
- Managing staff lockers, theatre access, consumables, deliveries and maintenance requests
- Admitting, transferring and discharging patients and providing clerical and basic IT support to perioperative staff and wards
- Assisting the Theatre Floor Coordinator, auditing documentation, running reports and daily scanning and uploading of post-op documents to Epic
About You
- Highly developed customer service, interpersonal and communication skills including a professional telephone manner
- Relevant clerical experience with strong administrative and computer skills including the Microsoft suite
- Knowledge of medical terminology and professional presentation
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving ability, flexibility and reliability
- Commitment to The Melbourne Way – people first, leading with kindness, excellence together
Desirable
- Knowledge of perioperative services
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records systems, preferably Epic and iPM
