Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is the major health provider in the Central Hume region with an extensive range of acute, sub-acute, aged care and community services.
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleaner / Patient Transport Officer to join our team, with the role predominantly working night shifts.
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming hospital environment. Responsibilities will include cleaning and maintaining hospital areas to a high standard, cleaning and preparing patient beds and bed spaces, collecting and disposing of waste in accordance with hospital procedures, assisting with patient transport as required, and maintaining appropriate stock levels of cleaning and ward supplies. The role will also involve ensuring wards and clinical areas are clean, organised and ready for the next shift, while working in accordance with all relevant infection control, health and safety procedures.
The successful applicant will enjoy working in a busy hospital environment and be able to manage competing priorities, particularly during night shifts. You will have excellent communication, time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A calm and professional approach, strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness are essential. Reliability, flexibility and the ability to work effectively under pressure are also key requirements for this role.
