1. Demonstrated knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 with a strong focus on English/Literacy, and the ability to design and implement a high quality curriculum that supports the development of reading, writing, and language skills in Years 3-6.
2. Capacity to use the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model (VTLM 2.0) and High Impact Teaching Strategies to deliver engaging, evidence-based literacy instruction.
3. Demonstrated ability to use assessment data (including DIBELS, PAT, and formative assessments) to monitor student progress and inform teaching

4. A commitment to inclusive practices, differentiation, and the provision of targeted support for students with diverse learning needs.
5. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and the wider school community.

The successful applicant will be a passionate and dynamic classroom teacher with a particular emphasis on the teaching of literacy in Years 3-6. They will contribute to the development and implementation of a consistent whole-school literacy approach, aligned with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 and VTLM 2.0. The role includes active participation in PLCs, curriculum planning, and assessment practices, with a strong focus on student growth and engagement.
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class a person must have provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching. In addition, from 3 August 2020, to be eligible for employment in the principal class or teacher class, a person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July 2016, must demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements. This condition is satisfied where the LANTITE requirement is part of the Victorian Initial Teacher Education program completed by the person.
