About the role
Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate Services, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) leads Parks Victoria's Information Technology Directorate, with responsibility for aligning IT solutions with organisational and government priorities. The role is critical as the organisation undergoes a significant 'back to basics' transformation aimed at improving performance and ensuring Victoria's parks remain accessible while protecting their natural and cultural values. The CIO is accountable for creating the overarching technology strategy and fostering strong, effective vendor partnerships. The appointee's broad remit will encompass enterprise architecture, information security, technology solutions, project delivery, and vendor management. Furthermore, the CIO will drive crucial process and system improvements, including a new enterprise systems strategy, oversee enhanced website functionality, and support the development of a compelling 'invest-to-save' strategy with clear, measurable outcomes.
About you
As a proven senior technology leader with experience leading teams through transformation, you bring a deep understanding of innovation, delivery and stakeholder engagement. You thrive in complex environments, work collaboratively with peers and are committed to building a high-performing, values-driven culture that supports innovation, accountability and continuous improvement. As a trusted advisor with a strong track record of translating complex technical solutions into clear business outcomes for non-technical executives, you are well-versed in leading the full range of disciplines that report to the CIO, including Applications, Data, Infrastructure, Security and related functions. Your strategic thought leadership is complemented by a proactive orientation and an ability to articulate and sell innovative ICT solutions and secure internal buy-in to investments. You will recognise this role as an opportunity to deliver real outcomes for the people of Victoria and its visitors.
