About the role:
The Western Health Cardiology Service is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Cardiac Physiologist specialising in Echocardiography to take on the Chief Cardiac Physiologist role, to manage and lead this progressive Cardiac Diagnostic Service team as it continues to grow.
Cardiac Services are located across both Footscray and Sunshine Hospitals. Each site has a Cardiac Care Unit and Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories providing a 24/7 acute infarct angioplasty service. The Cardiac Diagnostic Service is primarily based at Sunshine, and supports inpatient and outpatient services and cardiac specialist outpatient clinics. This role will be key in continuing the team and service growth into the purpose-built diagnostic clinic at Footscray Hospital.
The service is seeking a Cardiac Physiologists specialising in Echocardiography with demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, competency and clinical expertise to work as the clinical lead for Echocardiography and leadership experience to support management, and ongoing growth of the team.
Key responsibilities:
The Chief Cardiac Physiologist plays an integral role leading the Cardiac Diagnostic Service team to provide exceptional care to our patients. They will provide oversight in the day to day running of the Cardiac Diagnostic Service, management of the team and the delivery of patient care.
The successful applicant must have sound knowledge and the ability to perform in all technical aspects of echocardiography with skills to support staff and service development.
The applicant will participate in maintaining a high quality of service (in conjunction with a full-time echo educator, electrophysiology lead and electrophysiology educator) and will lead our enthusiastic team of physiologists in the provision of a patient centred high-quality care.
