ABOUT THE POSITION:
If you're passionate about caring for creatures that crawl, slither, fly, and fascinate, this role puts you right at the heart of it. As an Assistant Keeper, Live Exhibit, your primary focus will be the daily husbandry and care of our diverse living collection — from insects, arachnids, and reptiles to birds and other animals — ensuring they thrive in healthy, well-maintained environments. You'll also tend to planted displays, creating habitats that are as enriching as they are eye-catching.
Your days will involve hands-on animal care, monitoring health and behaviour, preparing diets, cleaning enclosures, and keeping meticulous records. While your main stage is behind the scenes, there will be times when you step into the spotlight — assisting with occasional public presentations and programs that give visitors a closer look at our live exhibits.
This role is perfect for someone who's meticulous, curious, and committed to the welfare of the animals in their care, and who takes pride in ensuring every display — whether insect, reptile, bird, or plant — is of the highest standard for our visitors.
