About the Mental Health Division
The Mental Health Division is committed to promoting the highest levels of care for our patients. In realising this goal, the department will lead and excel in research, teaching and the use of person-centred evidence-based practice. The department provides services on all three campuses of Austin Health, from the Emergency Department through to bed-based services and ongoing ambulatory care.
About the Austin Drug and Alcohol Service
Austin Drug and Alcohol Service (ADAS) provides multidisciplinary, recovery‑focused care for individuals with substance use disorders and complex needs, including psychiatric co‑morbidity, physical health issues, psychosocial instability, and forensic involvement. The service specialises in the assessment and management of alcohol dependence, illicit drug use, opioid misuse, and associated co‑morbidities, with a focus on harm reduction for individuals, families, and the community. ADAS operates during business hours.
