Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the north-east of Melbourne and state-wide. We have a highly engaged, diverse and collaborative workforce that is unified by our purpose, which is to help people live healthy and fulfilled lives.
About Austin Cancer Clinical Trials Centre (CCTC)
Located within the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre at Austin Health, the CCTC is a leader in clinical trial management, driving improved patient outcomes through the coordination and delivery of therapeutic interventional trials. We manage over 250 clinical trials, ranging from Phase I (including First-in-Human) to Phase III, across a broad spectrum of cancer types in Medical Oncology and Clinical Haematology. These trials offer patients access to novel therapies and cutting-edge treatment options.
A key contributor to our success is our collaboration with the Austin Health Trials Pharmacy Department, which ensures the safe, timely, and compliant handling of investigational medicinal products. Their role in vigilant drug accountability, preparation, dispensing, and documentation is essential to maintaining the integrity and quality of the clinical trials conducted by CCTC.
About the role
As the CCTC Pharmacy Liaison, you will work closely with the CCTC team, Austin Trials Pharmacy, and inpatient pharmacy teams to enhance workflow efficiency, medication safety, and patient experience in the delivery of investigational cancer drug trials. You will contribute significantly to workflow efficiency, quality assurance, medication safety, and the overall patient experience in the delivery of cancer clinical investigational drug trials.
In this dynamic and collaborative role, you will support high-quality trial setup and prescription checks, provide patient medication counselling and foster communication across multidisciplinary teams.
