About the role
The Cabinet Services Advisor role is responsible for managing the department’s Cabinet and Cabinet Committee business and provides expert advice on Cabinet processes and protocols. This role involves the coordination and preparation Cabinet and legislative documents. The role also helps to ensure that Cabinet material complies with strict cabinet-in-confidence rules, whilst ensuring, quality and compliance is maintained. Senior stakeholders include the department’s Ministers’ offices, senior executives and central agencies, therefore the incumbent will be required to build and maintain strong relationships across all areas of government. Additionally, the role requires accurate record keeping and a focus on continuous improvement to internal processes to enhanced service delivery.
What we’re looking for
This role requires strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret guidelines and develop practical solutions, seeking input where needed. You will bring sound data analysis capability, using appropriate data sources, visualisation techniques and tools such as Excel to support decision making. You understand organisational context and respond effectively to internal pressures and priorities. Strong stakeholder engagement skills enable you to collaborate with users and experts to design and test solutions. You are adaptable, respond positively to changing priorities and work effectively across teams. Well-developed organisational skills will allow you to manage competing deadlines and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
