The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Business Support Officer to provide a critical role within Emergency Management Victoria.
About the Business Unit
DJCS Emergency Management
Emergency Management, within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (the Department) works closely with government and agencies across the emergency management portfolio. The group is led by the Deputy Secretary, Emergency Management. Emergency Management includes the department's emergency management accountabilities and statutory entities and offices.
The Business Unit: Emergency Management Victoria
Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies. EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (the Department). The Department, through the Secretary, employs EMV staff and provides corporate functions to EMV. EMV is led jointly by the Chief Executive (CE) and the Emergency Management Commissioner (EMC).
Operations
The purpose of the Operations Branch is to lead the emergency operational coordination and state operations in Victoria by working with communities, government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies.
About the Role
To provide confidential administrative support to the Assistant Commissioner State Operations and Assistant Commissioner Operational Coordination. This includes administrative tasks for daily operations including accounts and finance, document management, data and reporting, conference attendance and travel, preparation and dissemination of correspondence and detailed reports as well as be initial point of contact for inquiries, facilities, and logistics for service delivery.
