About the Business Unit:
The Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group, comprising Corrections Victoria, Justice Health and Justice Services, plays an integral role in developing safer and more resilient communities and in delivering a trusted justice and community safety system.
Located at Truganina, Port Phillip Prison is a 20-bed maximum security Prison for prisoners who require care in a subacute care. Port Phillip Prison (St Johns Subacute Unit) provides a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to individualised care which motivates, encourages and promotes reintegration into the community.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Planning and Performance Manager the Business Support Officer will be responsible for providing essential support to the operations of Port Phillip Prison. 
Some of your duties will include:
- As part of the Performance and Planning Team and under direction, providing a broad range of general administrative support services to PPP senior operational staff using an understanding of prison issues to determine priorities
- Managing the prisoner phones process on behalf of the location including conducting prisoner phone verifications, data entry and ensure up to date and accurate records are maintained regarding prisoner phone accounts
- Assisting with the coordination of business activities and undertaking a range of administrative functions including minute-taking and meeting arrangements, word processing, archive management.

About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Experience in, or capacity to quickly learn and use, Corrections Victoria and Department of Justice and Community Safety systems and applications
- The ability to effectively use departmental computer systems for basic word processing, email, appointment scheduling, internet and intranet functions
- The ability to producing a range of complex business correspondence and reports that present clear, factual and pertinent information based on knowledge, research and analysis
- The desire to understand issues, needs and motivations of others while establishing trust and mutual respect in support of others and providing information and decisions in a sensitive and considerate manner.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must hold a Victorian Driver's License
- No formal qualifications are required for this position. 
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office is highly desirable.
