The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Business Support Coordinator to provide a critical role at/within Emergency Management.
About the Business Unit
The Office of the Deputy Secretary provides executive support to the Deputy Secretary, Emergency Management, including high-level advice, secretarial and administrative support to ensure the effective day-to-day running of the Emergency Management Group. The team provides high-level authoritative strategic advice to the Deputy Secretary on complex and sensitive matters.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Strategic Advisor to the Deputy Secretary, Emergency Management, the Business Support Coordinator is responsible for the provision of complex, high quality administrative support to the Office of the Deputy Secretary and coordinating workforce functions.
Some of your duties will include:
- Contribute to the delivery of high-quality executive and ministerial support services for the Deputy Secretary.
- Support policy development and provide authoritative information, analysis and advice on complex issues relating to Emergency Management outcomes.
- Provide quality assurance on complex briefings and corporate requests and support the coordination and workflow of approval items.
- Triage items for the Deputy Secretary's consideration, ensuring high quality outcomes are achieved within agreed timeframes.
- Coordinate and oversee workforce functions, including preparation of recruitment requests and oversight of establishment data and organisational reports.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience and advanced skills in Microsoft Office software (i.e. SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) with an ability to use electronic document management system (i.e. TRIM).
- Demonstrated records management knowledge in a government environment is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in generalist workforce and/or human resources transactional functions is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience with government processes, executive and ministerial services and policy development and delivery is highly desirable.
Qualifications/requirements
- Qualifications or equivalent experience in Business Administration or Human Resources is desirable.
