SC1 Outstanding financial management skills and demonstrated experience in Department of Education financial processes and procedures, including the capacity to analyse, prepare and provide advice on financial reports, budgets and strategic financial planning.
SC2 Proven ability to build, lead and develop a highly efficient and effective administration team, fostering a positive and cohesive culture, prioritising workflows, and implementing change and continuous improvement initiatives when required.
SC3 Outstanding proficiency in the use of Department of Education systems, including CASES21, EduPay, AIMS, SRP Portal and EduSafe Plus, with the capacity to utilise these systems to support effective school operations and compliance requirements.
SC4 Demonstrated understanding of contemporary human resources management practices, with extensive knowledge of the Victorian Government Schools Agreement (VGSA) and Victorian Early Childhood Teachers and Educators Agreement (VECTEA), particularly in relation to recruitment, workforce planning, leave management and employee conduct matters.
SC5 Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic decision-making within a school setting through the provision of high-quality advice, information and recommendations to the Principal Team, School Leadership Team and School Council.
SC6 Proven capacity in facilities management, contract negotiation, and the management of service agreements and compliance requirements.
SC7 Outstanding professional integrity, interpersonal and communication skills, including the capacity to build and maintain positive and productive relationships with students, staff, parents/carers and external stakeholders within a diverse school community.
School holiday attendance required but negotiable.
A Business Manager role will usually undertake tasks that impact on the whole school. The role seeks to gain cooperation of other staff members or members of the school community to achieve specific objectives, such as in school administration, finance or human resources.
Direction on targets and goals is provided but the position will have some degree of latitude in determining how they are achieved. This latitude will generally be limited by standard procedures and school policy. Deviation from standard procedures and school policy will require guidance and direction from senior management.
Management of staff to achieve the expected outcomes is a key responsibility. Staff management issues will be resolved with minimal reference to senior management, although guidance will be required in more complex cases. Senior management will be provided with timely reports and advice in matters relating to the school finance, human resources or school administration.

Miners Rest Primary School is located approximately 10km north-west of Ballarat and sits within one of the region¿s fastest-growing communities.
