SC 2 Demonstrated understanding of school governance, compliance, and reporting requirements, including relevant legislation and Department of Education policies. This includes Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), facilities management systems such as AIMS, Essential Safety Measures (ESM), as well as EduSafe, eduPay, staffing policies, and financial compliance in line with the Department of Education's Financial Policy.
SC 3 Demonstrated experience in managing human resources functions within a school environment, encompassing recruitment, staff development, performance management, and compliance with relevant policies. A Business Manager role will usually undertake tasks that impact on the whole school. The role seeks to gain cooperation of other staff members or members of the school community to achieve specific objectives, such as in school administration, finance or human resources.
Direction on targets and goals is provided but the position will have some degree of latitude in determining how they are achieved. This latitude will generally be limited by standard procedures and school policy. Deviation from standard procedures and school policy will require guidance and direction from senior management.
Management of staff to achieve the expected outcomes is a key responsibility. Staff management issues will be resolved with minimal reference to senior management, although guidance will be required in more complex cases. Senior management will be provided with timely reports and advice in matters relating to the school finance, human resources or school administration.

Fountain Gate Secondary College is located in the City of Casey in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, approximately 40 kilometres from the Melbourne Central Business District. The school was registered as a Year 7-12 provider in 2009, and prior to that, was a Year 7-10 campus of Eumemmerring College.

Fountain Gate Secondary College provides a Year 7 to Year 12 learning program through the Victorian Curriculum, the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), Victorian Certificate of Education ¿ Vocation Major (VCE-VM) and a range of Victorian Education and Training (VET) offerings.
